For the kids section of the NGV exhibition, Fashion Detective, I made a ‘Peppers Ghost’ installation.

It was a peep hole with a dollhouse room inside, where ghosts would seem to float across the tiny room. I used an old conjurers technique called ‘Pepper’s Ghost’ where an invisible film of mylar was stretched at a 45° angle across the room and a hidden iPad projected the ghosts onto the mylar. The ghosts were dressed in Victorian period costumes which were also on display in the exhibition.

Behind the screen I created a diorama in 1:12 scale designed to look like a Victorian sitting room.
